About Weight Loss on GLP-1s

What this site covers, who writes it, how the numbers are sourced, the commercial relationship it discloses, and how to reach the editorial team.

Weight Loss on GLP-1s covers the part of therapy the prescription leaves out: what to eat when appetite is low, how much protein and why, how to train to keep muscle, what a plateau is and is not, and what the randomised withdrawal trials say about stopping.

What the site is

Twenty short guides in three sections and three calculators. The guides take the questions people on semaglutide or tirzepatide actually ask (why has the scale stopped, how much protein, can I drink, what happens if I stop) and answer them from the primary literature: the pivotal trials, their DXA substudies, the randomised withdrawal trials, the 2025 joint nutrition advisory, and the position statements on protein and exercise. The calculators turn those published numbers into arithmetic you can check: an energy and protein estimate, a plateau checker that compares your weekly weights to the trial-mean curve, and a maintenance planner that applies the withdrawal-trial results to your weight and builds a question list for your prescriber.

Who runs it

The site is written and maintained by the FormBlends editorial team, which also publishes formblends.com. FormBlends operates a GLP-1 weight-loss program that dispenses compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide through licensed pharmacies. Compounded drugs are not FDA approved, their safety and effectiveness have not been evaluated by FDA, and they are not interchangeable with brand products. That is a commercial interest, and it is disclosed here, on the medical disclaimer, and wherever a page links to a FormBlends product or program. The trials this site cites were conducted with brand products at label doses.

There are no named clinicians, coaches or dietitians on this site, because none reviewed it. Nothing here has been reviewed by a physician or registered dietitian, and the site does not claim otherwise.

How the numbers are sourced

  • Every trial result carries its PubMed id inline, so you can read the abstract in one click and the paper in two.
  • Every dietary reference carries the issuing body (Institute of Medicine, FAO/WHO/UNU, NIH Office of Dietary Supplements) and a link.
  • Every label statement names the product and links to its Drugs@FDA record.
  • Where a page interpolates between measured points, as the plateau checker does between week 0 and a trial endpoint, it says so and shows the model.
  • Where a number could not be verified against a primary source, it was left out.

Each page carries an updated date. When a label, a guideline or a trial result changes, the page changes and the date moves.

Editorial rules

Short sentences. Second person where natural. No testimonials, reviews, star ratings or before-and-after stories. No claim of medical review. Trial means are described as population averages every time they are applied to an individual. Compounded products are described as what they are. The calculators never suggest a dose, and the planner never recommends continuing or stopping; those are decisions for you and a licensed prescriber.

Contact

Corrections, source challenges and questions reach the editorial team at hello@formblends.com. Quote the page URL and, for a calculator, the inputs you used and the result you expected. Arithmetic errors are fixed as a priority and the fix is noted on the page.

What the site is not

It is not medical advice, not nutrition counselling, and not a substitute for a prescriber, a pharmacist or a registered dietitian. It is educational. Read the medical disclaimer before acting on anything here, and take the numbers to the professionals who know your history.

Elsewhere in the network

The FormBlends Calculators site holds the dosing arithmetic; FormBlends Research holds full digests of every trial cited here; The Science explains the mechanisms; and FormBlends Guides covers injection technique, travel and the practicalities. On the main site, the GLP-1 program, the tirzepatide introduction and the tirzepatide product page describe what FormBlends offers.
